To reduce fraud, Brompton Bike Hire were looking to implement ID verification within the BBH App registration process.
During the registration, a customer would have to take a photo of themselves, and their passport within the app and have it verified.
To achieve this they partnered with Experian, who would compare the selfie and ID to verify the person and ID matched, plus cross reference the customers details with their own database for further validation.
My job was to integrate Experian into the backend (Laravel) where the customer data could be securely sent to Experian REST API, and the results received, then displayed within the app.
